Short of breath, off balance And panicked.

My anxiety symptoms have been in remission for about three months and suddenly I’m dealing with waking up either in the middle of the night or in the morning short of breath. To the point of nearly passing out. It sometimes carries on into my day for an hour or two. I also feel off balance. I do have constant sinus problems too. I guess I’m trying to figure out if it’s anxiety and panic or something worse. This has been going on now for the past week. Anyone else experience this? Any info on it?

Hey David, I know exactly how you feel. I’ve been going through that feeling plus more for a while but recently mine has been going on an off. I think what you’re feeling is a mixture of anxiety and panic. When you wake up you should practice breathing exercises and stay calm. As possible as for the off balance feeling just try to keep yourself grounded. To conquer anxiety we just need to be aware that these are only mere feelings nothing more. If you really do feel like it could be something much more don’t hesitate to go to the doctor. When it all started for me I was literally at the doctor ever week and I don’t regret it. It just made me realize that maybe it is just my mind after all the mind is extremely powerful.

Thank you for that. It’s hard for me to accept panic when it’s been every morning. We stayed at a hotel last night to see if it was environmentally driven. So far this morning I’m fine but I did have a touch of it last night. So hard to tell. I do feel like sometimes walking or doing activities triggers it. I have an email into ENT to talk about asthma and the like. I’ve just never had this go on like this persistently for days.

Sounds like just anxiety to me. I get the short of breath, off balance feeling allllll the time when I'm extra anxious. I thought maybe I had vertigo bc I felt like I was on a boat and swaying alll day every day for weeks! But then I started to notice as soon as I was distracted it would go away lol, so then I realized it was obv just anxiety then and nothing serious, otherwise it wouldn't go away.

Also, I haven't had the waking up in middle of night thing but my friend with anxiety had that issue. She'd actually wake up at like 3 or 4am every night gasping for air and out of breath, super panicky. They call these "nocturnal panic attacks". She countered that by meditating b4 bed, and sometimes she would take a xanax to calm herself down at night.

Hey David,

I know that feeling man i get the same thing usually sometime in the night or even waking up. I feel off balanced and sometimes the off balance feeling is unbearable and scary. I get shortness of breath too but usually before i go to bed i believe its my asthma. Just know you don't need to worry unless you have any other symptoms.
