Shots to numb the cervix for uterus biopsy

My GYN is going to give me the shots to cervix this time  to try to get the uterus biopsy on Aug 2nd. Has ANYONE here got those shots ? How bad are the shots? Does it help with the pain of the uterus biopsy? How long do you stay numb? Please for anyones that have had this done please share all you can with me. Also if I want he will also give anxiety meds has anyone had this too with shots if so how did the anixtey meds help or did it? Another attemp for the uterus biopsy in the office.  I need all the input I can get. Thanks

CArol, I couldnt do it that why i had to have it done in the hospital under GA.  It was super easy just had it done last Thursday.  I took a Xanax before I went to the hospital but it didnt help that much.  I basically had to tell them yall better put me under before I change my mind..the next thing I knew they were putting the mask over my nose and I was OUT!  I've had no cramping and just a little bleeding each day since then.  I hope your procedure goes well but I would ask for it to be done in a hospital if you are worried.  I dont know many ppl that have it done in the doctor's office with just a local and they few I have heard of did not enjoy it very much.

I remember having the shots, you will just feel a little pressure, i do remember being uncomfortable for a very short time, maybe from the pressure. I don't recall actual pain. I would take anxiety meds if I were you, just to keep calm.

I only ever had an endometrial biopsy done. When I was only 16 years old. It was very painful no numbing medicine. Just got it done. I heard of people who have had It done. Said its not that bad. So hope this helps your anxiety. Please keep me posted.
