should I be worried

Hello iv suffered with anxiety for just over a year now and I have had many symptoms because of this but yesterday I had a pain in the back of my head not a headache just a single pain which is sharp and keeps coming lasting a few seconds or minutes then goes but leaving a ache feeling and this as been carrying on and iv woken up with it again should I be worried is it something serious has I dont feel anxious.

Hi Carly, we all get sharp pains every so often can happen anywhere but we tend to become acutely aware of them if they effect the head. It sounds like just the nerve endings firing off, if you still get them "consistently" then I'd get them checked out but hasten to add I doubt it is anything serious. N

Its your neck muscles tensing up caused by anxiety. Or it might be how your lying in bed. If your head is raised to high on your pillow it will reduce blood flow to your head. Hope this helps

Hi Carly, Anxiety is a very complex thing. It causes all types of crazy feelings and sensations.  It get the same thing in my head and all over my body.  Most of the time it is muscle spasms.  If you are very worried you can have it checked out of course, but I don't think it is anything serious.  Good Luck and feel bettersmile
