Should I be worried

Hello I’m a 16 years old male. Only a couple of days ago when I had to walk to school for the first time in a while with a heavy bag also I’m quite a fast walker. I ended up having a sharp pain in the middle of my chest also i could fell a bit of pain in my back. I didn’t think much of it because I thought that it could have been my bag however, when i was walking home from the shop with a pretty light bag i started to feel the same pain. But when I bike to school or if i walk slowly the pain seems to go away I am going to try go to a doctor with next week, but I would like to know if i sould be casues untill then.

OH forgot to mention that i don’t have sharp pains when i take deep breaths it’s just when i walk fast but i don’t know about when i run haven’t tried.

Hi Alex, sounds like you have pulled your chest muscles after carrying the bag, if this is the case if will take a while to go, if you do not get it when cycling doubt it is anything serious as when you cycle your chest is more curved forwards and putting less strain on chest which is probably why it does not hurt so much, try taking a pain killer with your mum's agreement and see what happens, heart pain is on the left so try not to worry to much but see GP to be on safe side. Good luck have a good day at school.

Thank you so much. You realy helped calm me down untill I go to the doctors  hope you have a good rest of your day

It is very important to carry the bag on your back straight, and do no hang it k re one shoulder or the other so it hangs on the side..  Keep it straight, as you would wear a backpack if you were climbing a cliff.  This makes a very big difference.  I am an Ergonomist and this is well known as an important way to ease the strain on muscles and back.
