bout 8 days ago I went to the urgent care because I was having a burning pain in my stomach. She told me I had the stomach flu..1 week later I still don't feel 100%. 2 days ago I noticed my pee was kinda cloudy but I didn't think anything of it. Today I had a doctors appointment and she told me I have a urinary tract infection. She gave me antibiotics and I took one today. However I have bad back and side pain. Has it spread to my kidneys? Should I go to the hospital? I don't have a fever but I feel tired and weak. My urine doesn't have blood in it but I'm scared that something bad will happen. Any advice?
Hi,Sincerelylauren,it's sounds like a urine infection. I get a lot of them too many. Don't panic u may need a different antibiotics,if u are still worried give ur out of hours doctor a call for advice. When mine got worse I had the same symptons as u,mine i've had on&off since Feb as I have a stent in my kidney as urine wasn't draining seemingly the stent causes them but I have no choice it has to be there. Hi, In my experience, when my pain spread to my lower back and side, it had spread and became a kidney infection. I would call your doctor (or triage nurse) a.s.a.p., and tell them that you were given antibiotics for a UTI, and since starting them, you have developed new symptoms of much pain in your lower back and side. Ask them if this is a sign of a secondary kidney infection, and if you need to be seen, or given an alternative antibiotic to stop this terrible pain. Can you let us know how this all turns out for you?

Hey...I have a UTI to...I went to Dr. today..you will start feeling better in a day....or so....based on the amounts of the urine tests..if the dr. thought you needed additional care, I would hope they would have told you.
Thank you for your reply. I ended up going to the ER last night and they tested my urine once again and he told me that my UTI was going away and the antibiotics were working. What a relief I was freaking out. My back/side pain are going away as well.
