Should I change to Fluoxitine?

Hi. Has anyone left sertraline for fluoxitine? Im on day 8 of sertraline and not feeling good at all. I know i get on ok with fluoxitine as taken it before so wondering if i should just switch now ..any thoughts from anyone . I'm unsure what to do. 😔

Hi Kelly , I've never been on fluoxetine but been on sertaline . 8days is not very long to get in your system , It took me 14days before I started to feel better . Can I ask why didn't you go on fluoxetine in the first place  if you got on ok with it?hang on in there you should see a change in a few days.

Hi. I dont know why, i assumed the doctor felt i needed something different. I didn't question it. I was just thinking if they do the same thing then i should change to what i know was ok for me before.

Hang on in there , give it a few more days , at least a week , but some people take longer but mine was 14 days.take care.xx

Just wondering if there was any specific reason you've been given sertraline now if fluoxitine has worked well for you?

Having some side effects initially is fairly normal with sertraline. For me these seemed to pass after the first couple of weeks, so do hang in there a little longer now that you've made it to day 8. I started to feel better after 3-4 weeks at 50mg so don't lose hope.
