Hi all. I had an ovarian cyst measuring 7cm 2 years ago on my right ovary and had keyhole surgery in sept 2015, they couldn't remove it as when they went in it was grabbing on to my ovary and they said they would have had to take the ovary so they drained it. But the pain never left and shortly after in my follow up i discovered i had another cyst again on the right ovary, i had an ultrasound on tuesday and it is measuring 8.5cm, It is pushing my uterus and my bladder as it is so big which is causing pain and also needing to go to the toilet alot . If i go ahead and have surgery to remove this cyst there is a good chance they will remove my Ovary and i just find that really scary as im only 25 and have no kids yet. So do i get it removed or leave it there? i have my appointment with my Gyna on the 3rd October and he will be eager to know whether im having surgery or not. Thanks in advance.
Se você remove ou não o cisto/ovário é uma decisão sua e de seus médicos, mas vou te contar, aos 28 anos, tive meu ovário esquerdo removido devido a um enorme cisto dermoide. Não afetou minha fertilidade ter apenas um ovário. Tenho tido ciclos completamente normais (tenho 35 anos agora) e fiquei grávida com o cisto e depois de ter o cisto/ovário removido.
Na verdade, o dermoide foi descoberto durante uma cesariana e me disseram que aquele ovário provavelmente não estava funcionando há anos.
Além disso, há uma chance de que, ao remover o cisto, não precisem remover todo o ovário e você pode manter uma parte dele. Mesmo um pedaço pequeno de ovário pode produzir óvulos e hormônios!

Do you know what the percentage was when you were going for your surgery if they would take the ovary or not? I just don't know whether to leave it there or get it removed. It could be damaging the Uterus and Bladder if i leave it in but then again it might stay there and be ok.
My gyna is really good but he doesn't give me much advise whether to take it out or leave it there because i guess it wasnt doing much harm then but now its pushing everything out of the way.
Eu não sei a porcentagem porque não tínhamos ideia de que estava lá até eu estar no meio da cesariana! Mas o meu era do tamanho de uma toranja, então não acho que houvesse esperança de salvar o ovário de qualquer maneira.
O seu é de 8, certo? Eu acho que eles poderiam salvar pelo menos parte do ovário nesse tamanho.
Eu tenho um cisto no meu ovário restante também, e decidi deixá-lo para depois, conforme o conselho do meu endocrinologista reprodutivo. O meu ainda não é muito grande, mas o removerei depois que tiver mais um filho.
Eu diria que, se o seu cisto está empurrando órgãos no seu corpo, você pode querer considerar a remoção. Principalmente porque você tem outro ovário saudável. Mas isso é obviamente sua escolha!

I think the same, the ovary might not be in a good condition now after having a cyst on it for 2 years messing it around!!
