I was tested positive for HSV 1 and 2 last summer. my scores the first go round was 3.4 however looking at the lab report its showing 5 even though I've seen actual documentation of it being a 3.4. Doesnt matter. My main concern is that for the past few months I have not had any outbreaks what so ever no matter how much i stressed or what I ate it was as if my outbreaks were completely gone. I got tested for HIV at a different center and they wanted me to do hsv as well. My results came back for negative for IGM. I know IGM can give you a false positive but never a false negative. Ive been in this situation before where in middle school I had cold sores but when high school kicked in I was tested negative for HSV 1 and 2 (IGG test). Should i retake the test but with Igg or IGM is fine?
IGM is relevant. The results were probably negative because you didn’t have an active outbreak. The reason you havent had an outbreak is because its either dormant or your immune system is doing its job of supressing it. Your igg value increased because your antibodies increased
