Hello... I am due to have a total knee replacement (right side) in two weeks time, I have been reading many forums and to be honest quite a lot of horror stories, I am now totally undecided as to whether I should go head!
My pre op is on Monday but spent a sleepless night last night so thought I would ask previous patients their opinions?
I am a young 55 year old single mum of three late teens, two still in education, I have had knee problems for 20 years due to arthritis, I now have bone on bone, I cope well apart from I can no longer walk a great distance without my crutches and stairs are a problem and I can't lift, my 85 year old mum lives with me and we struggle between us to lead a pretty normal life, arthritis also affects my arm and shoulder on the right side!
I really cannot afford to be in a worse position than I am now, in everyone's opinion should I go ahead, are you glad you did it..... would you do it again?
