All day I’ve been feeling so short of breath, but at the same time I’ve had SO much stress.. My anxiety has been through the roof. But for the past few hours I feel a sharp pain in my upper right shoulder whenever I breathe. I’ve had the before and it was gas but I am 100% convinced after googling that it’s a blood clot or problem with my lungs... I told my husband I might need to go to the hospital and at this point he literally just rolls his eyes at me because of how often I panic and go to the ER/Dr only to be told nothing is wrong.. What should I do??
Calm down, everything is going to be all right. Just settle down and take a long, deep breath, hold it for a few seconds, and let it out. It's nothing serious, trust me. As someone who had health anxiety like this before, you will know for sure if something is truly wrong. It feels completely different. If you recognize your anxiety you're already on the right path, it's just a matter of figuring out how to tell it to bugger off... my method is singing gibberish to myself. My brain is too preoccupied figuring out the next tone and the rhythm of my new song to focus on the anxiety. Best of luck to you, I wish you all the best.
I've felt a shortness of breath for the entire year it's constant it's all day everyday it never goes away I've been to the ER maybe 10 times and been to pulmonologist and ent specialist I've had CT scan for blood clots x-rays d dimer blood test for blood clots blood test complete blood panels the whole nine yards and they can't find anything it never goes away I'm convinced I'm gonna die I've wrote letters to my family I'm scared it keeps me awake it affects my eating my Talking my walking it affects everything
Have you had a D-dimer blood test? That is what will give an idea if you have a blood clot. If you have it in your head that you have one, get the test. If you are having serious chest pains which are lung related and it is causing you distress, just get a chest CT scan with contrast. Then you can either get treatment if there is a problem, or put your mind at rest if it comes back clear. If it turns out to be functional pain, you can get cognitive behavioural therapy for that which will help the way you react to pain. It may not be a bad idea getting CBT even if you find a problem because you seem very distressed.
