Should I have a gap inbetween finishing Fluoxetine going on to Sertraline?

Been taking Fluoxetine for 9 months, but they stopped having the right affect and my doctor has swapped me to Sertraline 50mg today and I don't know if I should leave a gap in taking my new ones. I took my last Fluoxetine yesterday morning. Please can someone help?

Didn't the gp discuss a timetable to switch drugs

No wasn't very helpful at all, I spoke to a pharmacist and they said because they are both SSRIs I should be able to take one one day and start the other the next day. But I'm still really unsure, just needed to hear other peoples experiences, peace of mind.

When I changed I had been taken lofepramine for quite a number if years so I had to come off them gradually over a period of time. Then introduce sertraline starting with low dose every other day. Perhaps u can just stop one and start another. What r yr feelings about it

I had been on Zoloft before and it was working fine with no side effects. Than I stopped taking it (50 mg) because I felt good and I did not want to be on a depression medication forever.

Than after a few years it came back and I took 50 mg again. This time it did not want to work.

Than I heard from a friend, who had tried everything about Doxepin so I gave it a try 50 mg.

Switched from one day to another. I felt good within a week. I took Doxepin from that time on with no side effects. Than som years later it did not have the same effect,so my doctor prescribed 75 mg, still not so good. Two weeks later he prescribed 100 g, and that worked for me.

Today I am still on the same dose of Doxepin and I feel good and can sleep very good every night 7 to 8 hours. I hope this will help you.

Good Luck. Rosemarie.
