So i went to see cardiologist in November around thanksgiving. Had an echocardiogram, a stress test, a holter monitor & 4 ekgs. Nothing was found but skipped beats & I have sinus arrhythmia. Neither one of them are serious so he gave me the lowest dose of Propanolol.
My skipped beats are annoying the deal out of me. Just a simple run makes my heart beat so fast. I probably walk a total of like an hour or so every day. I'm always up especially from school.
So all of my tests were fine, but my heart has really been bothering me. My bp is always like 110, 100, 112 which is perfect. I'm just scared to take new medicine because idk how my body will react. Any suggestions guys? I'm pretty convinced there's nothing wrong with my heart because all my tests were perfect.
(I'm 16, with acid reflux, gad, irritable bowel syndrome, & thoracic
What is your weight? 110 bpm is not a healthy heart rate in a 16 years old person. Propranolol will help with the symptoms (you should take it!), but in order to treat the cause of your condition, you may need to be put on a diet.
I'm like 120 some thing but I'm pretty sure I've gained weight since then. I was 140 & 5'8. When they checked my bp at the cardiologist office before my stress test they said it was perfect. I thought a good bp was between 100-120/80.
I eat fruits & veggies every single day. Not sure how much I can go on a diet before I lose more weight lol
I've heard propranolol gets you tired faster if you run or workout alot. Since it slows your heart rate down, you're not getting enough oxygen to all the muscles being used. I guess it's good for bed time though, not sure. I thought you didn't give in into medicine.
I don't. I'm trying not to. I probably won't take it lol. It's just bothering me. & Yes I was told I should take it before bedtime
I think you should get a second opinion. Its always good, your to young for propanolol . Im 26 and they sent me that because I was having fast heart beats due to my anxiety but since I went on anti depressants it has helped and my heart rate has regulated.
Well that's why he have me the lowest dose because im young, I have no heart problems, & they are due to anxiety. I've heard that beta-blockers are secondary meds for anxiety.
I can't get anymore opinions. I've had 3, chest xrays, bloodtests, just had one 3 months ago, stomach xrays, as well as those tests i listed above. There is nothing wrong. I just need to know if i should take it or not
Not beats per minute, blood pressure lol.
I've been taken to the er 3 times. I'm stressing out my mom I can't go anywhere else
Are you on any type of anti depressants?
I took Zoloft once & i didn't like the way it made me feel. I was crying for no reason & it made me sick 😂. So no. I was given xanax as well but I'm not taking that either
