well I'm sitting here in my chair looking at the sunshine ( very rare up here) and I'm sick to death of being indoors, so I'm thinking of going to the local tescos, I'm feeling good, no pain apart from my healing muscles around the scar, walking fine with a stick, and not leaning on it half as much as before the opp, I am 2 weeks 3 days out, and I live on my own so nobody to go with me, but my point is , before this 2nd thr I was in agony with my right hip but I still managed to drive to the store, so what do you think? should i or shouldn't I?
NOoooo - you cannot drive until your surgeon gives you permission otherwise your insurance is null and void and you will be driving without insurance which is an offense!
You have to do what you have to do love and what you feel like doing, not sure what the rules are in Scotland re your insurance but you have to be signed off here by your consultant otherwise it is invalid if in an accident. Would be lovely for you to get out and about though to ease your boredom. Just please be careful love xxx
Personally I would wait till you had the ok from your surgeon before driving otherwise there could be a problem if involved in an accident or stopped by police. Usually there is no driving til 6 week check up with surgeon and then only if you can do an emergency stop.
