I have been on fluoxetine a month and I do feel a little bit better but not a great deal.
Does it need more time to work or is it likely this isn't the tablet for me?

hi im sange, im on my 3rd week of fluoxitine iv been feeling more anxious, tired, no energy+basically find it hard to do anything. it can take 4 or more weeks to feel better so i dont know if they are right for me.My body has also become dependant on dihydrocodeine so when i try to cut down i get withdrawal symptoms which amongst other things affects my mood.i have also just started nortriptyline 10mg at night for chronic back pain.Last week Dr at pain clinic gave me dhcodeine slow release ihave been feeling more anxious + depressed so dont know if im not getting enough codeine or if its the fluoxitine all i know is i feel so awful + cant see myself getting back to work anytime soon.Maybe we should both give it longer to see if there's any improvement
Please read my replies to the posts above.
It does take 4-6 months for Fluoxetine to start working propely but once it is in your system...it works very well.

It depends, I've been on these tablets for 3 years now and I feel the effects of them are at their maximum and I'm still not able to get on with normal everyday life yet they have had a slight improvement on my mood, however they do cause aggression in myself which makes me think if its really worth it
