I had total knee replacement surgery last July and I had to have a revision done this past January. Shouldn't my range of motion be at least 110 degrees? I still have the severe stiffness and swelling it's not really painful but it's quite irritating. When I do my exercises it feels good but as soon as I sit down and rest it stiffens up again. Any suggestions?
Hi Phil, what made you have to have a revision? What is your ROM? Yes, they do tend to stiffen up for quite a while through your progress.
The plastic poly exchange piece wasn't thick enough and it was causing excruciating pain. My rom is around 95 to 105 on a good day after ten minutes on my exercise bike it feels good but it stiffens up afterward
Hi Phil. I am at 16+ months both knees replaced. It is what it is. When I sit for longer than 5 minutes and rise, well it takes 5 minutes to get moving fluidly. Rely on what info you get from MD. Ask if you're not happy. They are just like us but have more knowledge on their specialty. I've given up expecting perfection. I'm happy I am mobile with some discomfort.
