August 2017 hip surgery. February 2018 and the pain in my groin seems like it will never go away😞😞walking not bad but sitting in the car. Omg I got the shots in my back. The pain was gone for about two months. Always come back. Sick and Tired of this Pain. I Refuse to take any much pills. Finish with my Pt. So now I guess I learn to live with this pain. Sick and Tired
I was sent to a pain clinic for this exact same thing. I have my first shot March 13 and if it works then I can have a certain unnecessary nerve that can get trapped by the surgery or scar tissue. I have it for the same reason you have expressed-pain on sitting & laying down. Standing & walking are just fine.
Please don't just accept the pain and not seek more help. I had my hip surgery in August of last year, too. I'm pretty much pain free except for some muscle aches. But I cannot imagine being in horrible pain and trying to learn to live with it. I'm sure there is more that can be done.
have you tried a wedge shape seat cushion to help raise you and improve the angle of the hip joint. You can get ones with a hole for the coccyx if necessary and there are a lot on line. Go for a deeper one as long as you have spare head height in the car.It will make it easier to get out. as well
I bet you had anterior approach & my guess is the cup is protruding & rubbing on your psoas.
Get a second opinion but from my own experience & of those on these forums your options are a psoas release(they cut the psoas & “lengthen” it and/or revision of the hip surgery.
The latter option is full on & not to be underestimated. You need a great surgeon who knows what they are doing. Recovery from revision can take up to a year as can psoas release & there are no guarantees.
It seems many surgeons do the anterior approach & are not skilled enough to do it and/or use too big a cup.
