Sickle Cell Trait and Pregnancy

Hi,

I am 14 weeks pregnant. I have sickle cell trait and I am a bit worry if there could be problems/complications during my pregnancy or delivery. I do not live in the UK, but in Norway, and the Doctor said there are no problems. I went to visit a second doctor and he wanted to send me to the specialist because of "high risk" pregnancy. I am 34 by the way, and I will be 35 by my week 29 in the pregnancy. So I just want advice. Anybody there with some answers?

Nothing for you to worry about. Having sickle cell trait is not a medical problem for pregnancy.

I'm 30 yrs of age and my husban has sickle cell and I wanna know it will hurt our chances in having children. And will it be tough for us to concive as well

You don't need to worry. I have sickle cell trait too and have 2 healthyChildren. Never was any concerns about my trait.
