Side effects-achiness

i am only on day one of sertraline but ive been sching all over, is this a normal side effect or should i be worried?

Hi, I got really itchy, it's one of the side effects for some people, if it gets to bad ask your gp if you could take an antihistamine, it's very early days yet, it should get better.

good luck😊

hi hollyworrier,

unfortunately you are right at the beginning of your journey with sertraline, for many it can be very different stories and certain people get side effects alot worse than others, anxiety and worry does tend to increase initially and the feeling of losing control but don't worry, this will calm down. try not to analyze too much every single feeling you're having, i know it's hard, i did exactly the same when i started taking these meds.  all i can say is it takes 6-8 weeks for each dosage to settle into your system, the first 4-6 being the hardest to get through. but if you stick with it and get through those initial weeks, you only start feeling better from then on. i started on 50mg and had to mess about with the dosage quite alot to find the right one for me so it's been a long road for me personally, but others may settle on lower doses of the meds therefore will feel better sooner. good luck xx

Thank you i will see how i go x

i have been on these before and had side effects but cant remember havin achiness, although i basically had the first two weeks off work so was resting, but being at work this time round i have seen the side effects more, for instance today i felt shaky, sick and dizzy, this did pass after a few hours but still got a banging headache. My side effects lasted 2-3 weeks before so fingers crossed they dont last that long, i am on 50mg but was on 100mg before, so not sure if this changes the length of time the side effects last for. Thank you so much for yiur reply, i will keep with them and try to push through. X
