I have been on sertraline 50mg for 4 weeks and having terrible side effects, palpitations ,teeth grinding , insomnia ,and high blood pressure ,panic attacks and high anxiety levels ,I have been to my go today and he says he wants me to give the sertraline another 4 weeks ,but I feel a bit confused all these side effects are worse than the depression I am taking pills for ! Has anyone else had such severe side effects and do they ever subside ??

i was exactly the same.
I had every side effect going. I still bite my tongue when I sleep, suppose it's like jaw grinding but my tongue gets in the way.
but slowly week by week they do go away. Iv been on 25mg for 6 months and that's enough for me to take the edge off my anxiety.

Same side effects as you plus more, I could hardly speak and was like a zombie.
My doc took my dose right up to 200mg a day but the side effects were way worse than the symptoms so I spoke to doc and tapered off:
150mg 3 days
100mg 3 days
50mg 3 days
I am now on Trazadone 150mg which I think has less side effects and is in my opinion a lot better.
