Side effects with increased dose?

I started off on 25 mg on Monday, I have had a few side effects but hopefully these would go soon , I was told to increase it after a week or two but I would be back at work then and worried about side effects, are they as bad when you up the dose?

Not everyone has side effects. You may be one of the lucky ones. Look after yourself by drinking plenty of water and make sure you eat. Get something to help you sleep from the doctor if you need to and increase your dose very very slowly.. and try to take your sertraline at the same time every day ..Good luck

Kerry, I wouldn't increase the 25 mg unless you have to, first Sertraline takes between 4-6 weeks to fully kick in and during that time you're going to feel some side effects but will go away, now anytime you up the dose, the more side effects you'll get, my experience is the lowest dose (25 mg) I didn't feel like a zombie or had blurred vision along with other side effects, as you know everybody is different.

So would you stay on 25mg to see if it works? I also wonder if it is weight dependant, probably not but I'm only 5 foot 3 and weigh just over 8 stone, would I need as much as a 6 foot man?

I defiantly would! weight is not an issue since the med works on the brain not the body. Hope that helps.

Hi all I have recently upped my dosage from 50mg to 100mg. And am having a real struggle with what I hope is just side effects my stomach has been gurgling loads and I've got an upset stomach plus days of having diarrhoea. I'm getting some wind as well and burping a lot. Some of these side effects are not helping with my anxiety which plays on my mind especially as a lot of my anxiety stems from what seems to be a constant concern about my health.
