I have been on 15mg since July last year and want to come off them. I feel like a zombie, constantly tired and have put on a stone in weight! My sex drive has dissappered completely and I seem to have no emotion whatsoever! Anyone give me some advice?
What medication are you on?
Are you talking about Mirtazapine, if so, then it can make you fat and tired.
Mirtazapine is hell for weight gain and sleep. I was at like 13 hours a day!
If the pills don't work (and all those side effects mean it's not working), then either look for a new med if you want them or choose therapy instead
I experienced weight gain, and alterations in libido, as a result of certain antidepressants. I found this difficult to swallow at the time (I was a former athlete in my 20's), so I ultimately opted not to take them anymore, and my weight and drive normalized. My best advice would be to tell your perscriber how you feel and ask for their help in seeking out alternatives. I ended up on a regimine of metoprolol (no major side effects for me) and klonopin as needed, and that worked for me for a long time. I more recently had some medication changes that seem to have disrupted the period of stability I was going through. Everyone has different needs, in terms of medication, and I feel like it often is a trial and error process. The best you can do is find a good doctor who understands you need your condition addressed and that the side-effects you describe are unacceptable.
