Hi all. I seem to be doing an awful lot of sighing/catching a deep breathe and obviously I've linked that to heart problems. But I think it can be to do with hyperventilation. Obviously I'd rather it be the latter. Anyone else do the same???
It's one of the classic symptoms of anxiety, Les. Nothing to do with heart problems.
I have this more or less constant, it's actually one of my main symptoms and seems to be worse at night when I'm in bed! Very uncomfortable but as mac said it's a classic symptom of anxiety
Hi Les l sigh a lot never really analysed why l do it l just do.l have no idea how you are putting it down to a heart condition.
Breathlessness?? Haha I don't know. I could find a way of putting a bruised toe down to heart problems.
Thanks Stella. Yeah today I've done it a lot. More when I think about it too.
Thanks Mac. Just had to check. Overthinking again.
Someone yesterday saw a bruise on her arm and concluded that she might have leukaemia.
I had a bruise on my arm a few weeks ago and concluded that I'd knocked my arm on something.
Yep les one of the main symptoms. Doing it right now
Stop being so flipant
Lol very true Les.l hope you get treatment soon and some relief.
Hi Les
I do this all the time...link anything and everything to heart problems! When I am anxious I feel as though I can't take a deep breath which makes me panic, which then causes palpitations and a feeling that I cant breathe properly...and so the cycle begins. Its exhausting. Try breathing exercises you can find on Youtube.
How are you feeling now, Les?
Still doing it a couple times an hour or so. Then when I do it makes me anxious for a while. In my head when I'm doing it I'm waiting for a big thudding pain in my chest which I know is ridiculous but everytime I do it that's what I imagine is next. I've got a blocked ear bow which is slightly frustrating but I've managed to not relate that to my heart - although I can hear a buzzing blood like sound in concurrence with my heart beat
Just keep remembering it isn't an incipient heart attack.
The buzzing sound is very common in anxiety disorders.
