Been on antibiotics for 4 days for my sinus infection and I also have a nasal spray however my nose is still COMPLETELY blocked. I am unable to inhale or exhale at all. I use the nasal spray twice a day as prescribed. Why is nothing happening?
Hi! Alice.
I just wanted to let you know, that I understand the frustration you are going through. I too, have suffered with sinus issues for the past five years. I have been prescribed numerous antibiotics and steroid nasal sprays over the years. Give it some time, and make sure you take the full course. Watch out for side effects! The antibiotics can give you awful stomach cramps. Drink plenty of water and eat some yogurt for the probiotics. I hope you feel better soon. Take care. Kim.
Which nasal spray it is?. We are not doctor but I have had several sprays until just after big pressure and ENT prescribed me some naughty stuff that have at least control my simptoms. I use dymista and ipatropium, because they control my alergic rynithis which used to trigger my sinuses before. However, how long have you been sick?
If I was you I would stick with the antibiotics (it may take a couple of courses) but I would advise you not use the nasal spray for longer than seven days if it is sudafed or vicks sinex (containing oxymeltazoline). A friend of mind got addicted to vicks sinex. If your sinus infection wont budge give sinusoothe a try. I had an infection for years and this spray is the only thing that helped me.
