Six Month Update Both Hips Replaced.

Hi all just an update from me , and put some smiles on your dials, from this short piece I wrote today... it's now six months since I got my life back, this is letting you know how it's all gone after a terrible summer going through rest and repair, I have also done a short piece on KiGung breathing, if anyone would like to read it, Aussie Liz has read it and likes it, I just hope that it helps her, and anyone else understand how KiGung works and why, it is just a page long and I can message it to anyone who would like to read it,  as I had both hips replaced within nine weeks of each other, and I feel that the breathing exercise helped me recover more quickly, but then I have done KiGung for years from time to time whenever I needed to heal something or needed to focus on an issue, or build some internal power.

I have been back at work now for two months and, from time to time, it has been quite tiring, and a little painful around the Butt+ Scars, and the bearable pain comes on in moments that are never the same, I have just been dealing Poker for two days, sat in a chair, for extended periods, a nice chair, a big computer chair, but the raising up function was not working, and I was probably a little low, as I prefer to be a few inches above the players level so I can push down on the cards easier as I zip them across the table,    I hate to Pitch Deal, as so many other dealers do I like sliding them across the tables as they will never flip that way and it is easier on the hands, well for me, anyway..it is like sitting on a horse as you are moving about a lot in the chair and the tops of my thighs are sore on both sides, needed two 50mg Trammies to help sleep last night and the night before.

So I was supposed to work today...my day off...I worked my day off yesterday, but had to bow out earlier as I do need rest and a nice steak for dinner, also Sandy said....  Well I won't say here just what Sandy said.... Anyway... the high protein diet, just love that excuse for a nice fat steak... again.... as I have been losing the little weight I put on by just eating less and being more mobile, and the Salmon I had yesterday was superb... I have also fallen in love with my Egg Poacher again....

I am no longer that Pavement Shuffler with the pained expression, Yes I have that Tee Shirt....and much more patience and understanding for the poor folks who for whatever reasons are unable to go through with THR operations, fear or otherwise, I was so lucky to get mine done and have a lot to look forward too soon. Like upgrading my camera....Hmmm yes...turning 55, has allowed me to take a bung from my pension...I have...and will go for the Olympus EM1 my Xmas present to myself, having suffered two major operations this summer and getting better with continued self care and motivation.

I have the adapter on the way already, found it for half the UK price in Australia on Ebay a new one...and will get the camera here over 2 years with Jessops, putting some cash down on the deal...So a lot to look forward to and will post some shots here for you all once I get out and about with the new cam soon.

Kindest regards to you all, and thanks for looking in again, I will post again over Xmas period.

Ian.

Hi Ian

I am so glad you have got your life back and all is well. I bet you can't wait for next summer to take some photos again. I too am looking into a new camera. I have to buy a Nikon because I don't want loose my lens collection and have to start again.

My last Camera is a Nikon  D 80 like a semi pro and I have 6 lenses from a macro to a telescopic. I hope I am fixed soon so I can enjoy getting out and about too.

I enjoy a good steak too. Yummy

Ian. Wonder where you were, well i only went and done it, had it done on friday and wasup walking on crutches yesterday and today. I remember you saying its like a toothache in your bum, never understood you till today when my toothache appeared. Just wanted to say thank you for you support and encouragement, feel like a different person already, lying here in my hospital bed been told may be home by wednesday. Looking forward to seeing your new pics. Sue

Hi Lucite,

Congratulations on your new hip! I had numbness in my thigh and around the incision area for about 6 months! It's been a year now and (apart from the scar continuing to itch...) all is well. Just in time for my second one on Thursday.

All the best

dear Ian ,

there you are !!!  so nice to hear from you again and thank you for sharing -

I am happy that things are going well for you and life back to normalish -

when is your birthday ?

i too have 2 new hips and am very grateful - I  didn't have to deal with long waiting lists or cancellations - no complications, neat scars - I can't believe what I read here sometimes - those long waits etc.   I think I was just lucky to mysteriously end up in rural Holland , a regional hospital and an excellent surgeon -

 - both hips/legs are equally being trained right now - baby steps !

big warm hug for both of you

renee

So lovely to hear from you again. Great to hear about how active you are. I've spent some of my chair time reading about how to improve my photography.  I love being out and about with it all but the technicalities still will not stick with me. A bit like my card skills, I can learn enough to win but a month later I have to re learn.

Have been wondering how I will cope with switching good and bad legs on the stairs when I have next hip done next year. I guess it will be obvious.

Would love to have a read of your KiGung breathing.  Have been teaching stress management again and this breathing could be added to the tool kit.

Big healing hugs,

laura
