I am just coming up to a year with no periods, which I can't say I miss one bit. I'm now having very dry skin generally, but particularly on my face. I've tried all sorts of gentle soaps, moisturisers etc with not much luck so far. Also, have now developed an eczema type looking rash in my neck crease (usually the one that is in contact with my pillow, so worse depending on how I have slept), plus a blotchy patch on my chest, where I think the skin is touching when I am asleep on my side. Again I have tried all sorts of things for it, including anti-fungals, steroid cream, regular sheet changes etc. It looks pretty unsightly, like I've been sunburned, and obviously I am trying to sleep on my back but that's not going very well. Normally one to two hot flushes a night when I am pretty damp in between my boobs, so try to dry off as needed. I am very fair skinned, so this patch looks very obvious.Has anyone else had similar issues, and what did you do to help relieve it. Unfortunately I don't have limitless funds to keep trying different things and wondered if there is a simple hack that I could try? I am otherwise in good health, have never had any skin issues, and it seems such a trivial thing to bother my GP about in the current health climate.
I am 2.5 years post menopause and I have suffered from really dry skin on my whole body and on my face. I have sensitive skin now too. I might suggest switching to laundry detergent and fabric softener for sensitive skin and see if that works for the rash. I rinse all my sheets and laundry twice so I am not having that issue. I might suggest trying that. Sometimes we develop allergies to things that we used forever. I had to change my body soap. I started using my husbands lever2000 and even though my skin is dry I don’t have the reaction anymore that I had to my favorite soap I used for years. I do use a good lotion and I use my night face creme during the day and it has made a world of difference on my face, which used to get flaky and dry bits.
I have to moisturize sometimes twice a day. Not to mention drinking plenty of water. I have struggled to find a decent routine for the past three years. Once I find something that doesn’t upset my skin, I loathe to change it.
I feel for you, take care

hi jools - Yep, i was someone that never had to apply lotion to my body or face, than bam! i woke up with lizard skin…there isnt enough lotion in this state to quench my skins thirst. Not only that, my skin has aged like overnight. The one remedy is to make surr you are drinking enough water & i use a lot of olive oil & avocado oil in my cooking. Also, are you sure you have eczema & not rosacea? Many woman develop menopause rosacea during this time, it seems to go hand in hand with hot flushes & hot flashes. With rosacea, stress, foods, weather & alcohol can trigger it - For me, if i have spicy food or a glass of red wine, my face will flush but being “stressed” out really does a number - You need a dermatologist to determine if it is Rosacea & they can prescribe Rx’s to help combat it, but diet & stress are key - also the changing of the pillow cases is key -
