Every month during the time I am supposed to be getting my period (I have an ED and IUD that is currently stopping my period) I get an incredibly irritated vagina. I usually just spot, with the period blood being dark/brown. However, the skin around my vaginal opening gets dry and then cracks and bleeds. I also sometimes get raised bumps. Is this something common or related to IUDs? No derm/GYN has been able to figure out the cause or a solution. I have not been sexually active in about a year because of this problem. Any help would be so appreciated!
I would like to say that it is hormonal change irritation! This just started happening to me with my new birth control except my vulva is irritated an raises really bad bumps.
This just happened my last period cycle an it was really bad!
Have your obgyn tried doing a hormonal check while on your period? Maybe your levels could be skyrocketed during that time causing this.
Really?! Wow thank you for sharing this- I haven’t been able to find anything online pointing to hormonal changes but the symptoms are definitely in sync with my menstrual cycle! I also get raised bumps, was really scared it was HPV but a derm/GYN team looked and said there was no way it could be HPV and that it looked more like an allergic reaction. Have you been able to treat your symptoms at all?

I have been using the cream my obvyn prescribed me and they have gone away!! I posted it on here and everyone saying it look like herpes, it doesnt look like the pictures ive seen but who really knows these days?! im getting blood work done on Monday!
I hope your doc can figure out whats going on with you and that its nothing serious!
