hi paula - do you also suffer from hot flushes/flashes? you might have rosacea - it tends to affect menopausal woman - google it - some people get red inflammed patches, some get little tiny pimples - i have also struggled with ocular rosacea. different things trigger it, stress, spicy food, hot drinks, alcohol etc. For me, my rosacea all started during a time of high stress & horrific hot flashes/flushing during menopause. it can be controlled, but i dont think it ever goes completely away - another gift from menopause - it does need to be diagnosed by a dermatologist - good luck!
Hi Paula, I have been peri for 2 & a half years now. I didnt have any skin problems as a teenager or when I started this peri journey, however, in December just gone I noticed a small group of spots on my right cheek. It didnt matter what I put on them nothing has helped. Since then my face has spread with what I now know to be rosacea. It has got worse, I like to try all the natural solutions first if I can but to be honest they are not helping. I saw my gp who wanted me to on an 8 week course of antibiotics. I agreed, but after a week of taking them my pain symptoms returned in my hips/legs so I stopped taking them & my pain disappeared withing a week. I did read that some women who take hrt (I do) can be affected by antibiotics. So I am now battling the spots on my face day & night with everything I can throw at it. I hope you find a way to cope with your face. Good luck
