Sleep and my first few days

I started taking sertaline three days ago, on 100mg and menatlly I feel much, much better. I am much more sociable and a lot less angry :D but, I have found that I am having trouble sleeping. The first night was the worst. It took me a long time to get to sleep, and I only slept for about 4 hours and felt wide awake, but made me very tired the next day and had to have a nap, but when I woke up, I felt much better. Last night it took me a while to drift off, but once I did, I only woke up a few times, falling asleep almost immediatly again.

Sleep problems are not the only side effect I'm experiencing. My throat is very dry, I have a stiff jaw, no appetite, my pupils have gone ridiculously big and I have moments of shaking, but despite this, I am very glad that i found the courage to speak to my doctor about how i felt because I finally feel positive about being alive

Hi. everything you have described is exactly how I am. I started taking tablets on Monday but took the first one at night time. I didnt sleep at all that night!! I got up feeling very shaky and sweaty with a dry throat and an upset stomach and nausea too!!!

I spoke to my pharmasist who told me to switch to taking it day times. The second night I got a couple of hours and last night was probably my best night for sleep (although still broken).

I too have loss of appetite (was trying to loss weight anyway) :D

I do feel strangely calm and am glad I went to my doctors. I am lucky I have got a lot of support for me. Just wish Id done it sooner

i feel as though i am slipping back to how i used to feel... the 1st week i was wired, but now i feel sad again... and alone sad
