Sleep anxiety

Looking for a mentor who’s overcome anxiety and insomnia due to  sleep anxiety

Im just starting past 2 weeks getting some sleep. Had to gp on tricyclic antidepressant Trazadone. Its the most sedating. Flexeril muscle relaxant is also sedating. My anxiety is physiologic, not psycologic. When the two mix it's not pretty.

I’ve had this before and it is awful. It’s bad enough that the anxiety causes extreme fatigue but add insomnia to it and it feels like death warmed over.

I take melatonin and it helps me tremendously!

Thanks Sarah to your reply. I’ve been taking melatonin but doesn’t seem to be working. Brain just doesn’t seem to want to go to sleep and my heart just pounds when I lay down. Any tips? Thanks

Doctor has me on Prozac been on it a little over 2 weeks and don’t see any difference. Any suggestions

Alex, my mind.  Would  race while I was trying to fall sleep. I started listening To audio meditations on you tube for anxiety, sleep, breathing, etc.

They taught me how to relax, breathe properly and take control of my anxiety.

there are so many to choose from. I have pop in my earbuds and get comfortable.I get so relaxed that sometimes I fall asleep before it’s over.

They also have nature sounds like rain, ocean, etc and relaxing sleep music.

One great one is to gain control over your anxiety called Mindfulness breathing Guided meditation 10 minutes.

there are many mindfulness meditations on you tube .

Totally calms down my mind and body and symptoms.

I do hope you feel better soon. ❤️😁

Hi Alex, i also use mindfulness meditation for sleep on you tube which does help. I am also going to try cbd oil x

Hi, here are some tips on how to get asleep:

1. Try to force yourself to stay awake

2. Get up and do something for 10 minutes

3. Hide your clock

4. Cool your room

5. Take a warm shower before bed

6. Wear socks to bed

7. Immerse your face in very cold water for 30 seconds

8. Scent your bedroom with lavender

9. Listen to relaxing music

Try leaving the tv on overnight or a radio . Sometimes background noise can help
