Sleep News!

Morning hippies and hippies to be!

For those of you who can't sleep following your op, just thought I would let you know it gets lots better.

From sleeping 1-2 hours per night with a daytime nap and long hours on the iPad or watching TV, I am now slleping better than I have done for 2 years or more.

Since sleeping restrictions wee lifted, I am sleeping on either side with V pillow between legs and am so comfy and cosy, I am drifting off into the most lovely sleep. Might wake up for an hour or so, but can then go back to sleep instead of remaining awake for hours.

I am 5.5 weeks post op and  I love to dream - I must be having good quality sleep, because I'm dreaming all sorts of lovely dreams!

At one time, I felt as if I would never sleep again and so lovely to have NO PAIN - wonderful.

Hope your sleep patterns are getting better and have a lovely day y'all

Best wishes Linda xx

I so agree Linda.

For the first two weeks I only averaged 2 hours per night, now 4 1/2 weeks I too can sleep with long pillow between my legs. It's heaven!

So defiantly gets betterπŸ˜΄πŸ˜΄πŸ˜΄πŸ˜΄πŸ˜΄πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€

Such an encouraging post!! I'm struggling a bit which I think is because I don't need the pain killers which helped me sleep!!

I laid on my operated side last night.....still a little tender to sleep on but enjoyed the feeling for a while.

glad to know an improvement is on the way...zzzzzzzz

Well done linda,

it's so good when you can sleep on your side again isn't it, instead of lying there like a sardine in a tin!!

Dear Linda,

I entirely agree with you...I am sleeping so well at the moment, it's wonderful not to have any pain .

Big hugs

Ella

Hi

im nearly 4 weeks, and I've tried a pillow between my legs and can only manage a few mins on my un operated side, not sure if I need more pillows or if it's too soon....

so glad when I can have a good nights sleep, I wake up with back pain whether I take pain killers before bed or not!

Linzi x

That's encouraging Linda. 3 weeks today I was stil waiting to go to theatre. Still wake up with butt pain but getting 3 hours then sit up for 1 and then maybe 3 more. Not good quality sleep but I have all day to catch up.

Sweet dreams! X

Might be a bit too soon, Linzi. It's amazing how things change in space of a week or two. I have only just had clearance to sleep on side - I would have been uncomfortable trying to sleep on my operated side at your stage of your journey. I am not taking pain killers at night now either

i am sure your sleep will improve given a week or two - my sleep pattern was non existent at 4 weeks

Hope you have a better night

Are you off of pain meds? I had my THR on June 15th and stopped the pain meds Juky 4th. It doesn't hurt, but I am having trouble sleeping. Glad you are sleeping well.

Hi Kathy

just take a couple of 8/500 co codamol occasionally

Trying to walk without crutches more and am getting some leg ache since I have been doing that

No night time pain though

Hope you have a better night!
