Sleep problems

Hey again guys. Over the last few weeks i have been experiencing a variety of different feelings, including depersonalization, heart flutters etc. Ive been to the docs and hes said its anxiety and im back on prozac again, 20mg a day. Recently ive been struggling with sleep, ill struggle to get to sleep, its like ill doze for a few hours then wake up, with a dull ache in my head at the base where my neck joins my head on the left. This pain keeps me up for some time until i finally fall asleep at like 4am. Im writing this because its 3am now and i just cant sleep ive asked for sleeping pills but been refused as they are addicted and im only 17. I just wanted to know if this is a common thing with anxiety disorders, your help is much appreciated and thank you in advance for your replies.

Hi Ryuukuu unfortunately anxiety and sleep problems can be awful. Like im still up at twenty to four in the morning. Now with anxiety cognitive behavioural therapy can help if you comit to it. Its hard at times but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I was on prozac for a number of years eventually i couldnt sleep at all and the doctor changed my medication i started to sleep and things inproved you may need to see a psychiatrist to find the right a medication that suits you. You may need to be firm with the doctor that you dont feel right on what your on.

Sucks to hear you're going through this. I can tell you first hand it's not fun. One thing to do is avoid trying to make yourself sleep. stay up until youre ready to fall asleep. Never force yourself as this for me has contributed countless panic attacks. I have no idea why. Hope this helps.
