Hello,
So i have been dealing with anxiety for over a year now and have been managing it pretty well without medication recently.
Lately though, we have just bought a house and it is a mess to say the least and i just feel overwhelmed with the amount of work ahead. Now i know its anxiety, but the physical symptoms are preventing me doing a lot of work that i can do normally without a problem.
I have also had some sinus problems. Reoccurring sinusitis (over a year), so constantly feel congestion, dizzy and headaches, no cause for it identified yet. Only finished a 6 week course of antibiotics last month and an infection is back already.
The thing is, because of anxiety and the sinus problems i am exhausted. I wake up exhausted and drag myself through a day. The fatigue is untrue. My eyes are burning from the tiredness and it feels like my body is fighting something.
I think the sinsus problem is causing sleep apnoea, which explains the more than usual tiredness and fatigue but the doctor won't send me for a test, instead wants me to try Sertraline to see how that helps.
I can't see how it will help the constant sinusitis or sleep problems. Not really sure what to do?
I think if that clears and i can breath clear again, my sleep will improve and so will my anxiety?
Sorry rambling on.
Hi thomas96833, I don't quite have the same prob but I can definitely say I know how you feel in that I've had sinus issues and a very dry late night cough for weeks that are exacerbating all my problems.
I've recently been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation and due to having difficulty breathing and coughing my head off when I go to sleep, I'm almost giving myself panic attacks thinking something is going to happen when I'm lying down because I keep on catching my breath, thinking I can't breathe properly as I'm drifting to sleep. I can't help but feel that if my sinuses clear and my cough goes, I'll calm myself down a bit and stop being irrational but it's become almost a vicious circle lately and because I've cut all caffeine out I'm feeling exhausted daily.
Stick in there and things will improve. The fact you can rationalise it is a good sign.
Thank you for the reply. I know what you mean. When i lie down, it feels like i am choking sometimes and the sinus pain throbs, it definitely triggers my panic levels.
I can empathise with the cough and dry feeling. It's horrendous. Anxiety is bad enough without the disturbed sleep along side it.
Hopefully things will level out.
Thomas
Very suprised that you have been on Antibiotics for six weeks, there are problems with this group of medications because they are running out of options as peoples bodies seem not to respond and the Antibiotic fails too work
I really feel for you I remember when we got our first property, we had to get a grant to help with the costs of modernisation. The house on the inside was unmodernised and it was like putting the cloks back to the 1930s.
We had to remove gloss from the plaster that was covered with tar and nicotine as they used to smoke like industrial chimneys. and it took us an age to bring it up to 70s standards.
Like you we bothe suffered Anxiety and tiredness, we were sleeping on camp beds and nights were long and hard especially when we needed to go to work next day. I was on the bus and left in the morning around 06;30 and returned for dinner at 18;00. At least eventually we saw the light at the end of the rainbow and it was wonderful when we were able to move in perminent.
We had problems with dust as well we would be covered at the end of the day and would sneeze, our noses would run all the time. We were using stabliser on the walls and that seemed to hurt our eyes so eventually we were forced to wear goggles.
All was busy times that will give you a positive feeling when all is finished. Our builders etc
