I just need to sleep it's driving me crazy! :'(
I only get a couple of hours each night if I'm lucky and nights are so much harder for me just if i could just sleep it'd be so much better, does anyone else suffer from lack of sleep if so is there anything I could ask my doctor for?
I'm on mirtazapine and apparently it's supposed to help with sleeping too but it doesn't, going out of my mind I just want to sleep!
X
Yes been up since 3am myself and couldn't sleep....with anxiety and depression and went back to work today x
Aww it's horrible isn't it xx
been like this for months now but lately getting even worse, sorry that you had to go work, luckily I don't have work till Thursday xx
I've had two major anxiety attacks today never had this happen and two in a day wtf xx
Have you tried a natural sleep aid which contains Valerian, couple of those 15 mins before bed works for me.
If what you've been prescribed isn't working as it should then either dose isn't enough or GP should prescribe something else.
I feel like a pest with my GP but to ge honest they prescribe in the hope that it works for you if it doesn't they should sort it as that's what they went in to practice for.
Aww I'm so sorry, it's horrible isn't it, especially for the first time, I used to get them a lot then they stopped for a little while but lately been getting them again x
Hope you feel better soon xx
Thank you for your reply x
Ive tried a few different methods but to no avail xx
I only saw my doctor yesterday but I'm going to have to go back again and hope he listens, I've had my meds upped but still can't sleep, hate going to the doctors but can't keep on like this is driving me crazy cx
I don't sleep very well either. I've just started to have acupuncture again and I can tell the difference after two sessions. It works for me, maybe you could give it a go
Thank you for your advice but I don't think I could do that, I'd feel embarrassed, I know that sounds really silly but it's just the way I am xx
What is there to be embarrassed about! It relieves my anxiety which helps me sleep better, thus reducing the risk of me binge drinking. Well worth it IMO
Probably nothing but it's just how I am, the more I try to explain it the more stupid I'll sound so I won't try but I'm glad ad it works for you, I'm going back to my doctor tomorrow hopefully he'll give me something xx
Acupuncture? Can u tell me more? All the details I'm willing try anything but meds again? What about hypnosis? Any one tried that? X
I've never tried hypnosis, but read somewhere about people advertising they do hypnosis and ripping people off. Auricular acupuncture is where fine needles are inserted in the ear. The therapist uses 5 acupoints as a detox treatment, Shen men, sympathic, kidney, liver and lung.
the sympathic point is used for relaxing internal organs. Shen men is for sedation and can help relieve, anxiety, worry and tension. The kidney helps relieve nervous exhaustion, headaches and helps with detoxification. The liver helps with detox, pain, anxiety, tension and relaxation. Finally the lung controls sweating, breathing, relaxation, detox and pain relief.
the 5 sterile needles are inserted in the outer ear and left for about 40 mins whilst you relax usually with calming and relaxing music playing. Then they just pull them out. It's not painful if you relax and 'go with the flow'. The more treatments you have the more you notice the benefits. It's worked for me previously and after just two treatments I'm already sleeping better.
www.adsolutions.org.uk will give you more details and Google acupuncture to find out more. Give it a go, it's drug free. Some GP surgeries offer acupuncture, unfortunately mine doesn't, so I have to go to the substance abuse treatment centre.
