I wonder how many hours sleep we will get to night I was awake at my usual time 2.30am I am trying just paracetamol for tonight
I have recently cracked it. Just concentrate on doing the lying down exercises, I never reach the end. Usually manage 6 hours
What are the lying down exercises I didn't or haven't had physio doc said I don't need it just walking is the best exercise
Download pocket physio from the App Store, I checked with the physics who thought it good. I usually aim for 20 of each, leg out to side, careful not to cross midline on way back. Buttock clenches, knee bend towards bum in particular.
Hi marilyn
I have basicly forgotton what a good nights sleep is after not being able to sleep for long over the last three years. It was made worse when I had my hystorectomy. Then got even worse after having the first hip done as the Bonjovi song goes * I'll sleep when I'm dead "

I've been to bed , lasted at least 20 minutes then the burning in my buttocks/scar area needed ice, so here I am making yet another cup of tea.
Chair ready, ice pack in place, thick book on floor to keep bad leg higher otherwise I find cuts off circulation. Got really swollen knee, ankle doing all the right things, elevation, ice etc. all under control! No complaints!! My husband andI i have been fortunate enough to build a new bungalow on our farm in Kent. I am a very lucky lady. I am standing at the window in my new kitchen looking at the moon. It is so bright I don't need the lights on.
It is a beautiful evening,
oh well, to the trusty chair I think as I seem to be able to sit slightly to one side taking the pressure off. I know you all know what I mean!!!!!😁
hope you are all well
thanks for being there

I had (hope your sitting down) 8.5 hours sleep last night layed on my back. We went down into Kings Lynn for the Festival Too opening night and watched the fireworks at 10.30pm. There was a lot of walking and a lot of standing around I was completely cream crackered when we got home and went straight to bed woke up at 9.00am this morning. Trouble was I still felt sleepy lol. Overdid it yeah probbly do it again yeah definitely. Today we went to RSPCA at East Winch open day, then to Marham to see the Vulcan bomber fly over had a lazy evening and day off tomorrow lol. Now saying goodnight. xxx
that saying is so true sadly that came true for my daughter in Jan 2014 , hubby found her in bed sadly she was chronic alcoholic pm showed she had severe liver disease just a matter of time she was evicted from her home at the end of Nov 2013 at least we had her back at home for 2 months, even now there are times when I can feel her round me what helped me to come to terms with it was being in touch with a medium and she and I have become great friends
Marilyn, I feel for you, I had exactly the same problem for 6 weeks, mainly because sleeping on my back was becoming unbearable! I kept waking up every 2 hours or so, wanting to sleep but feeling oh so uncomfortable. Paracetamol helped a little, but it soon wore off. How long is it since your operation? When my 6 weeks was up I started to use a couple of hefty pillows between my knees (and lower legs too - this is important) and slept on my unoperated side for part of the night. What bliss! The first night I didn't wake up as many times and when I did, I simply adjusted the pillows and promptly fell asleep again. I now use the pillows every night and don't wake up at 2.30 like I used to. Try the pillows if you have passed the 6 weeks mark. Good luck with your recovery, it will all get better, just give it time.
Best wishes, Alison
So what puppy did you come back with lol
Thoughts with you M.
No-one can know.
My 21 year old daughter drowned while on holiday in 1994.
Words mean little but my own, broken heart reaches out to yours.

I am sorry to read that marilyn. No parent should go through that.
I love watching long island medium on TV. Not sure if I believe these mediums or not. I am sceptical. But I am interested..
Thank you we have another who lives here Cromer too she has given us a lot of support, I found the best advise the doctor told me was talk and talk do not bottle it up, I found a lovely medium who helped immensely and still keep in touch with her, Liz would of been 41 last June. Just seen the weather for the week where's the sun cream lol xx
Missed out the word daughter
I lost my mother to cancer 16 years ago and I bottled it up. No one to turn too and it took me 7 years to just sort of get over it. There are not many people I trust to be able to talk like that. I have had a pretty bad time with hospitals doctors and entist in the past. So I am always on my guard. If they giive me meds and they don't tell me what they are and why I refuse to take them. I have an intence needsle phobia and it is so bad I have actually in the past broken a male nurses nose when he didn't take me seroiusly. I would be a millionaire if I could sue all the medicle people who just say you are being stupid get over it. They don't know what I have gone through. They don't understand.
Good Night Gilcat. Sleep wellx
