I'm 21 and I have just had results back from a MRI scan to say I've got a central disc protusion within L5/S1. Can anyone give me any advise please as I'm worried about this as I'm only young.
Thanks in advance

It's quite common but not normal they will try a range of none invasive treatment s from physo to spinal injection. If the pain is so severe and affects the quality of life , they may consider a discectomy shaving of the disc or partly remove it , which is what I had done on l4/l5 good luck ask to see a neurosurgeon there the best
Thanks for your reply, yeah I've been sent for physio so hopefully that will help but I've had physio on my back before and wasn't very good but fingers crossed
Thanks
