Small blood clot

well…im 4 months after LHR and find I now have a small blood clot in operated leg calf! I had no pain, just a hard tight feeling so I brought it to my Dr attention, who then ordered an ultrasound & it was found. Said ive probably had it for awhile. He is putting me on Xarelto for 3 months. Im a nervous wreck. Did everything I was suppose to to avoid a clot. In between this, I need a filling in my tooth replaced as it is starting to bother me, so Im trying to get dentist to fit me in today, so I can start meds after…Whew…what a mess :frowning: otherwise, the hip itself feels great lol anyone else deal with this? worried about it traveling!!

Please let your dentist know you’ve recently had a new hip. I’ve been advised not to go to the dentist, even for the hygienist, for a few months after surgery. Apparently there’s a higher risk of infection going to a new metal joint.

I cancelled my perio cleaning appt which was a few days before the op as I was worried about infection risk.I have the appt rebooked for this Friday and I will 7 weeks post op but now I am wondering if I a. doing the right thing so soon

That was a shock to you wasnt it.I hope you manage to get sorted with your tooth .

yes it certainly was!! my dr. said ok to dentist as i am already 4 months out. i am taking my antibiotics beforehand. I will be starting blood thinner after I get home from dentist . Have to repair tooth before infection sets inWHAT A WEEK I cant wait for this to be done im super stressed

yes i told him. my dr that did surgery said i could go. Need to fix before i start blood thinners tonight!

Thank goodness your tooth is being done but I can undrrstand your concerns .You may feel more relieved when you start the meds tonight You have a lot going on

Hi Kda,

Horrible to find you have a clot after doing everything right isn’t it. I had a clot in the lung (P.E) between week 7 -8. Hope everything goes well for you.
