So my ongoing investigations continue into why i'm getting abdominal pain. First they found an ovarian cyst but say its not not as my pain is too high up and finally I agree,
Visited my gp yesterday and I explained that although I felt silly mentioning it i've been feeling sausage like lumps in my tummy and around my naval particularly is very tender. She examined me and had a good old feel - OUCH! Anyway she could feel what I was feeling and although some of it of corse is sorry 'poop' etc but she did say that she can feel lumps in my small bowel and it needs looking into. Probably nothing but still, she could see how much pain I was in.
So, i'm waiting for a scan at my local hosp, I might be lucky and get a cancellation any week now. That's to have a good look at the bowel but also to see if the cyst is still there/has it grown etc.
She has also referred me to a Gastro specialist but thats going to be about 6-8 weeks she thinks.
I can manage the pain but I asked about what I can do to help things along, I've been living on Co-Drydamol and Co-Codamol (when its bad) but i'd like to see if theres something else.
I have a prescription to pick up today, don't know what it is, starts with an A, thats all I saw! she said something stronger but it will help with opening the bowels shall we say, she thinks the painkillers might be bunging me up.
She mentioned the FODMAP diet and although I googled it yesterday I got all tanglked up in high and low and what I should be looking for. I was just wondering if anyone follows it and a good website you could recommend for me to look at?
Thanks in advance,
