Small fibre or peripheral neuropathy and PMR

Sorry if my prior post got mixed up.  I am new to this.  I am trying to figure out if anyone has both PMR and idiopathic small fibre neuropathy (sometimes called peripheral neuropathy.....

Yes, I have peripheral neuropathy and PMR for about 4/5 years now.  Did you have any specific question?  It's a little difficult to know where to start.

Thanks.  Are the two related; that is, absent another underlying factor like diabetes.  What medications are used in the treatment of the SNF progabalin, gabapentin, ???  Whatever else you can tell me.

I've never considered them to be closely related.  I think my peripheral neuropathy has come from a mixture of autoimmune conditions - I also have T2 diabetes and late-onset asthma, fibromyalgia and hypothyroidism.

I take currently gabapentin which also helps with the fibro, I did try pregabalin but it wasn't successful.  Gabapentin does help, in fact more than I realised when I had to stop it to begin the pregabalin.

At a guess, I think the diabetes, the underactive thyroid and the asthma would have happened even if I didn't have PMR but of course there is no way of really knowing.

Yes, I have both.

How can I help?

Did your physician suggest that there was a relationship between the two?  Are you on both Pred and Gabapentin or Pregabalin?  Or did you some kind of IV treatment for the SFN?  Just wondering.

The only relationship between the two I know of is that they're both autoimmune conditions. When you have one, you tend to get more.

I don't use any specific drugs for the PN and am on preds and MTX for the RA. I'm sorry, but I don't know what SFN stands for.
