Small hard lump inner side big toe just below joint

I have osteoarthritis in various joints including my hands where there are boney spurs on fingers. Not really had any toe problems till now with this little lump on the inner side of my big toe. It is quite painful to touch but so far can't feel anything when walking. The lumps on my fingers do not hurt. I did wonder if it is a blood blister (can't actually see it) but it feels hard like the lumps on my fingers. Anyone else had this problem. Feel a bit silly going to the GP

My hands are bad too, but nothing like you have described. Wouldn't hurt to get it checked out.

Same here “going to GP”.  He’s really excellent, but I can’t see him taking such a thing as “important”.

Thanks Deb and Constance. I suppose I'd better wait and see if it affects my walking. The GP is bound to dismiss it and in any case what could be done? It's going to be one more irritating little niggle one has to put up with.
