Small itchy skin rash at the top of buttocks crack. Could it be herpes?

I keep getting this skin disruption right at the top of my butt crack. It does itch but it’s not really a blister with pus. it’s like just a raised red bump for a few days then it goes away after about a week. I will put rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and put it on the area to help the itching but it’s scarring the area all around the bump. I have no other bumps anywhere else on my body just right at the top of my butt crack. And it’s always in the same spot. I’m thinking it could be herpes but would it only erupt at the top of my butt crack?? I been getting these spots off and on for a few years now.

this looks almost fungal! try a antifungal cream! if you are concerned if may be herpes get it swabbed while its there!
rubbing alcohol is extremely harsh on skin so use it sparingly

it does not look herpetic, but we are not physicians. Based on the cases followed on this site, both classically herpes and atypical, your lesions do not look herpetic to me. Again, I am not a doctor. BUT, I agree with xdx91, it could be fungal. Possibly ringworm. I used to get ringworm as a young person in the same spot on and off for several years. I would see a dermatologist or your GP, but it simply doesnt look like herpes at all. At this stage, you would expect crusting and then healing, these also look quite flat. The lesion, once ruptured, will have some dermis and epidermis loss, so it resembles a little crater, and these do not resemble that at all. theyre flat and undulate, and herpes are somewhat confined. I suggest you google ringworm, it looks very similar. And no, ringworm is not caused by a worm, its a fungal infection.

also, do not use rubbing alcohol on your skin!! Its highly abrasive and could cause more tissue damage, increase itchiness, which in turn leaves your skin at an even greater risk for secondary bacterial infections!!
