Back in late Feb/early March I had pain in my foot when running, which after some google searches I assumed was plantar fasciitis, though not 100% sure. Then around Easter I noticed a small pea sized lump a tad under my ankle bone, visible only when my ankle is bent a certain way but you can feel it always. This caused no pain, and I really dont know how long that was even there before I finally noticed. Currently, I dont technically have pain at all, but at times my ankle/outside of my foot just feels "weird". I'm not even sure how to describe. I have no idea if any of these are related at all, and I havent made an appointment, though may at some point. I am pretty active, with running, walking, softball, etc and it doesnt seem to hinder me whatsoever, but still bothers me just because I dont know what it is. I know this is pretty vague, but any ideas?
I had plantar fasciitis for a short time and found lots of stretching exercises online that helped me quickly loosen the muscles that were causing me tighness (turned out the pain under my foot was caused by a tight Achilles- which is often a sign of plantar fascitis). Did you find in your research that the lump has something to do with plantar fascitis? I read a lot about it some time ago and don't recall hearing that as a symptom.
No, I didn't read anything about a lump as a symptom, not even sure they are related but the lump and weird feeling in my ankle seemed to start shortly after my heel pain stopped. Thanks for your reply!
Did you have ORIF? I was just thinking...it could be a screw you feel.
Yes, I actually did 15 yrs ago.. I thought that too but it doesn't seem to be in the same area. It's possible though
I'd get it checked out if it keeps bugging you. May have to do with the hardware.
