Small, red-ish spot on penis

Hi all,

In the last few days, I've been noticing (more) a small red dot on the head of my penis. It appears there may be two. There has been a red mark in this area for a while, and a couple of months ago there was some peeling in the area. It's only recently that I've noticed the "dot" or "spot". It is slightly raised. I can "feel" it there, but it is not painful, no tingling or burning. I think the feeling is just a psychosomatic awareness based on my anxiety about it.

I spoke to my local GP via triage, and he suggested it might be balanitis but he didn't do a visual inspection. He basically told me to apply antifungal cream for a week and go back if it didn't look like it was clearing up.

I may have had unprotected sexual activity of some kind about 4 days ago (I blacked out and have no recollection of anything that happened, and whilst they're saying that we just sat and talked... their reputation gives me pause to have some doubts). This is also causing me a considerable amount of paranoia, as I am in a relationship and do not want to think that I lost control and made a huge mistake.  Sadly, I don't feel I can discuss this with my partner as currently there is no reason to think anything happened aside from this issue. The marks in this area were there prior to that happening, but obviously with the atypical presentation of a lot of STIs I'm concerned that this may be something to worry about. I've obviously done some extensive Googling, but it does not appear to meet the criteria for things like herpes, genital warts, syphilis, etc. However I felt I'd come here to get some opinions. I'm intending to get an STI test through a local pharmacy at the end of the week (as this will be two weeks from the potential sexual activity).

Any advice or guidance would be great.

HI CD, I have about 3 like that been there for years, never thought anything about them, I think your worrying over nothing, and the more you do then stress will make things seem a lot worst than they are.

Just try and forget its there. OK and get on with your life.

Hey man. I have had the same thing for months now. It will be smooth, then get hardish and raised and start to flake a bit, then ill pick the flake off, put moisturizer on and then it will be smooth and red... rinse and repeat. I went to two separate walk-in clinics, first doctor said "I wouldn't worry about it".. second said "well, It's not herpes and doesn't look like warts". That's it. You will probably learn to forget about it.... but if you find a cure... let me know wink.
