Small vertical tear in between my buttocks

i have what looks like a small tear in between my buttocks just below my tail bone which looks to be inflamed and is painful. does anybody know what this could be?

Matt. pilonidals usually look like holes, not tears or slices or cuts. A pic would help to offer an opinion

In my non medical opinion this does not look like a pilonidal. I would suggest you go to the doc, ideally a colorectal specialist. If you are near NYC I know a great colorectal specialist associated with NYU.
