Smelly gas problem

Hi, I am waiting Gallbladder removal (going for my pre assessment on Thursday) and since I had a very bad pain attack and had a stone stuck in a ducket , which was a year ago now, I had very horrible smelling gas from the bottom end. It’s a really embarrassing problem to talk about but was wondering if anyone else has had this problem while waiting removal?  Iv been told my operation will be approximately two weeks after my pre assessment.

If you think your gas is bad now just wait until you have your gallbladder removed. It becomes about 10 times worse. Unfortunately I was told I would have more gas as it comes with the bloating but no one told me the odor could cleat out a department store. It’s been 4 months since my surgery and I have not had anything that wasn’t on the list of foods I should have and the delight odor just seems to be getting worse.  Just remember you have to drink plenty of water, iced tea, hot tea or coffee. My physician is awesome and told me to eat 6 small meals a day, but nothing with fat in it. Roasted or grilled white meat chicken with no skin on it, even cooked on it, tenderloin pork as it has the least fat and no beef or lamb chops or pork chops. You can have fish, not fried, vegetables or fruit. You can have cereal with SKIM milk and fat free sour cream and if you need butter Land O Lakes makes a butter spread made with canola oil. I was on liquids for the first 36 to 48 hours. I have lived on graham crackers with low fat whipped peanut butter because it you don’t tend to eat as much since it’s fluffy. The surgery is really easy, mine was done laparoscopically so for a couple of days when I would lay dow the gas the use to extend your abdomen area

The more you can move around the quicker you body absorbs it. You are going to do great if you watch what you eat and drink plenty of water, tea, coffee and no sodas.  Let me know how you do. I will say a special prayer for for you and a quick recovery.

Thank you for your reply Wanda. I will write on this group after operation.  I am getting more nervous with each day. Have read about so many people getting problems after the operation!        So Wanda, can I ask, did you have any gas problems before the gallbladder removal?  ..... I’m getting gas problems regularly and especially after meals. I’m not burping wind up, it’s just bottom end and makes me feel bad about myself 😟
