Oh it's been over a month since last post. Been through the wringer. My nausea and vomiting became so bad went into ER twice in one weekend. All tests were ok, lab , ct ,ekg, etc. few days later had gallbladder out. Had to stay in hospital as I got a huge hematoma and became anemic. But nausea got worse and worse so 4 days after surgery got endoscopy. Said it was gastritis. So been taking Protonix. Acid reflux is incredible. Nauseousness better but still get it a little daily. Lost 10lbs in 3 weeks due to lack of appetite. But worst thing now is my neck turning, diagnosed as cervical dystonia got worse after surgery and it severely pulling to the left. My entire neck is so stiff and painful. Mostly I'm is sitting all day icing it against the back of the couch. Tried driving but too difficult can't look to change lanes or back up. Got Botox treatment yesterday so praying that will give me relief. Please keep me in your prayers. I feel like mine are not being heard. 😢😢😢
Wish I was back to dealing with "just depression and peri".
I want to add that when my peri symptoms got severe last July, exactly a year ago now, I went into depression and started trying different antidepressants (but couldn't get past the side effects to find the right one). And my doctor says the dystonia may be a side effect from it. I've researched online and there is info to this connection. So please be very careful about taking these drugs. Dystonia is very disabling. If I had to chose dystonia is way worse than major depression.
You poor thing, you have had a rough time. I don't know what to say other than you can always come on here and let everything out. We are here to listen and try and lift your spirits a bit. It is such a hard time in life but especially more for you going through all of this. I remember talking to you on here a while back. How old are you if you don't mind me asking xx
Yes been rough to say the least. Once I get the dystonia and gastritis settled I need to put my attention back on addressing the peri symptoms. One of which is got fibroids size of baseball and golfball so one gyno said I can get hysterectomy and another said uterus can hold size of 9 month fetus so can leave it. It's maddening the different opinions of doctors. But I tell you gastritis if it really was it, is like incredibly wretched. I thought if this is the way I am to go then let it be. And I've never thought that before, ever. Had my friend take me to ER 2 days in a row.
Hi Cincal....you poor thing. I had my gall bladder out a couple of years ago. I was so sick beforehand it made me feel like I was dying from the pain. You will get better remember that. Just take one day at a time. Once the nausea and vomiting stop and the gastritis is better you can deal with the neck issue. Its bad enough having to deal with one major health problem let alone several! Take care of yourself and come on here and vent when you need to xx
I feel for you with the gastitis c lost alot of weight too, no appetite, feeling sick etc, eventually it did clear up after a while but took some weeks x
Hi Sis. I am so glad you have posted on here again to let us know how you are; I was thinking about you & thought you were probably just recovering from your gall bladder surgery for a while, but it sounds like you've really been through the mill lately. Gastritis is awful, I've had it a few times & take 20mg esomeprazole daily to prevent attacks/acid reflux & have taken double that dose during attacks of gastritis to calm/subside it. the reflux is awful especially at night when it comes up & burns your throat & leaves you coughing uncontrollably. You will get better, just keep taking your meds & try not to eat anything spicy, no acidic fruit or juice to help your stomach heal. I hope the botox works for your neck dystonia hun. Did your specialist mention at all about cortisone injections? You can have 3 or 4 of these a year they help with many chronic pain problems to reduce pain & associated inflammation. Take care of yourself Sis, big hug to you. xxxxxxx
Yes I remember you saying to get it out when I mentioned they accidentally found a mass in my GB during an ultrasound for another peri related test. I waited almost a year as I wasn't having any GB symptoms. Turns out it was a polyp. So glad I got it out! Are you still waiting to start HRT?
I can't believe the intensity of it. Even the antinausea meds weren't helping. I'm seeing now that I have to change my diet and go really light on dinner if eating at all. Last night I just had banana and almonds and didn't feel hungry at bedtime. Felt bloated a little this morning. All my life I've been a huge breakfast eater but I think as I'm getting older that's changed.
Sis! I've missed you! We even share gastritis. I never felt like it was the end of the road as I've felt with gastritis. Not even antinausea meds helped. Truly terrifying ordeal. Will have to really examine what I eat and try to manage stress as the doc said that may be a cause too. We women go through so much at this time in our lives!
