so frustrated! pls help.....

Hi! I'm new here. First time to post online cause I'm so depressed don't know what's wrong with me. Since February this year, my bowel movement changed. I'm Having frequent diarrhea (3x a day) and lower abdominal pain, and always feel gassy (also in the lower abdomen). When I woke up every morning regardless of what time I will have abdominal pain and the need to have a bowel movement, my stool are always lose. That is everyday since February. And the lower abdominal pain doesn't go away. I had whole abdomen ultrasound and it came out okay. I don't have weight loss and no problem with my appetite, also no blood in my stool. I hope someone can help me. I am Also suffering from health anxiety. Always thinking for the worse. I hope what I have is not something serious!

if you eat proccessed foods or high sugar stop eating it .this will make a differance

the same goes if your eating to much fibre reduce it .either way to much junk food or to much fibre can cause it .

also aniexty will cause it any increase in stress or unexpected stress will hav e my stomach cramping and loose movements .and as soon as it stops so does the dirooeh .

try a self hypnoses cd once aday you can get them for i b s or get one for aniexty

sounds daft but it helps .vegatable oils are not good ,avoid them to . try coconut oil

or a nut oil . try weleda calming  drops

take them twice a day they have clove in and work by calming the stomach which helps you to stop producing the acess liquid in your stomach which causes the problem in most cases you can buy them on line . there reccomended for travellers tummy so they are very good iv always found them very good one dose normaly sort me out and gets me back in balance .

try also not to skip meals the body ,or eat moving about eat at a table and chew and eat your food slowley gulping food or drink will also cause gas .good luck

Do you think this is IBS or something else? I'm having lower abdominal pain everyday, mostly lower left. I want my life back. So afraid to go out because of this. Thank you very much for your reply tiswas24537.

Hi, as long as your tests are clear and your doc is confident nothing else needs to be checked (and you've tried going gluten free to assess for coeliac) I would agree with tiswas.  I'm no expert so don't take my word on this, but just a couple of key things that I remember was my doc telling me there are two main things that can cause diarrhea, assuming no illness present, and thats sugar or fat.  Mine turned out to be sugar (doesnt necessarily have to be the particulary bad stuff either).  You could try the FODMAP diet, you should be able to google charts for the lowest sugar foods (think its also known as or similar to the GI diet).

Also, one of the reasons that mine was diagnosed as IBS is that the abdominal pain moved from side to side and downwards throughout the day (not just pain in one place consistently).

If it does turn out to be food related ibs and you want short term relief from symptoms while you suss out the diet that works for you try having simple meals like homemade chick broth/soup or homemade liquidised vegetable soup, or low GI stir frys (agree with tiswas on the oils too, although I also use butter and olive oil without problem).  Good luck, hope you find the answers soon

i am not a doctor hun

all i can do is sugest things i have tried

my stomach is grumbling as i type now it sounds awful pinging and ponging but its partly my own fault i didnt get to sleep till 5am and was up at 10am

i cant eat when i first get up so my stomach made loads of liquid waitng for food iv just fed it some toast and its going crazy like iv just said

oh and how could i forget!  caffeine can also be an obvious bowel stimulating factor, so if you don't already avoid or at least limit this while you try and suss out whats going on

Thanks Kirsty! Already avoided caffein and processed food. There's a differrence but I still feel a little pain and wind traped in my lower abdomen the whole day. Will def try the fodmap diet and see if it will work for me. I will also go back to my doctor and request for colonoscopy. Have you tried it? Is it painful? Thank you so much for you time.

Hi tiswas! Sorry to hear that. I also feel that stomach grumbling. I just woke up and had abdominal pain again even If i just ate salad and vegies the whole day. Saaaad... Will go back to my doctor and request for colonoscopy. Hoping for negative results!

No, from my experience and others I know that have had colonoscopy pain seems quite rare, I barely even remembered mine after I came out due to the pre-meds, so please don't worry about that if you go for one and you're welcome, I just hope the diet helps you

i cant touch saldes hun my stomach goes berserk i cant nausea gas bubbling gurgling then i get a bout of dirooh its like my body has struggled to break it down by making alot of liquid to much

then of course it shoots thru my system .

IF you have IBS (and it certainly sounds possible) the best place for dietary advice is Monash University: http://www.med.monash.edu/cecs/gastro/fodmap/low-high.html and updates at http://www.med.monash.edu/cecs/gastro/fodmap/diet-updates/

I have found that you will need to test their recommendations as we're all different, but it's a very good start.

I feel you tiswas. The struggle is real. I don't know anymore what to eat. 😟

Thanks kirsty, that's comforting to hear. Just want this to get over with.

thanks for sharing those links p3t3r, i've not seen that site before, they have a smart phone app too by the looks of it, i'll be having a good look around this info too

try making bone broth from organic beef or chicken the collagen is healing for the stomach

I always seem to be the naysayer. I found the colonoscopy very uncomfortable (I'm not sure that painful is the right description as you are anaesthetised) and I felt feverish for 48 hours after, despite the antibiotic. Mine found nothing either, to add insult to injury. I guess at least I know I don't have cancer etc.

Really? I have no choice, need to undergo colonoscopy just to know what's really happening to me. I'm really hoping it's not serious. The doctor says it's not cancer because of my age, i'm 31 yrs old. She said this is probably IBS but I just want to make sure. Thanks p3t3r!

Thanks for the link. Will check this out!

Hello There

I never had any problems with my digestive system regarding gas until the last week. I can relate to what you are saying because as soon as I eat a meal, not matter what it is, I start filling up with gas and letting it go. Sometimes it hurts like trapped gas until I can excuse the word (fart) and feel the relief.

I did find some help though in a natural remedy. I have been taking 1 teaspoon of organic apple cidar vinegar in 8 oz of warm water, stir it and drink it with a straw so it doesn't stain or hurt the enamel on your teeth. You need to buy the Braggs kind with the mother in it. Again, you can find it at the health food store. At first just drink a few ounces to see if it helps you. You have to do it once after lunch and then again after supper. The apple cidar vinegar neutralizes the food and helps you digest it better, less gas, less farting etc and less pain of trapped gas. Give it a try and I will tell you more about how I feel once I have been doing this for a week or two. I definitely think it is making a difference for me. Google the words "Does apple cidar vinegar help IBS or trapped gas" and read what it says. You will read some testimonials of others who have tried it. Good Luck.
