So I went for my neurofeedback session....

We talked (I answered a lot of questions - why do you act the way you do, etc.) then we did a bit of BIOfeedback which was good. Easy - just a sensor on my ear. An EKG type line on a screen went up and down depending on how I was feeling. Three columns appeared on the far right - one "Normal" (think it was really "anxiety") then a relaxed one then a calmer one. Just a little introduction to biofeedback. Next session we will begin neurofeedback - the big cahuna for dealing with GAD. Fingers crossed!! He was a really nice, older guy, very serous. I'm a senior, too and feel he is definitely old school. I had such a great, positive feeling after our session I sent him a brief, rather gushing, thank you note the next day - no response. I googled up thanking a therapist and found that it was not always a great thing to do. I'm a little hurt but I will just ignore it when I go in next time.
It would have been the icing on the cake to have gotten a little thank you note back but I still have good feelings about our future sessions.

well you have those nice old-school manners which a lot of people lack today.
I wish you the best in your sessions.!
