The gabapentin worked but the next day I was due at work so thought I would save the tab until after work as the day before it made me feel like my head was not connected to my body !!! It took most of pain away so was a little happy but Friday at work I had shakes felt unwell and kept getting hot flushes also all weekend I've suffered bad migraine I decided not to carry on with the tabs so have got yet more blood tests tomorrow!!! Not happy to say the least !!
Gabapentin, hi again Sadie. I was on these, I got so bad I was crying and screaming at 3 in the morning to my partner that he needed to redecorate the living room. Came off them straight after that.
Sounds Horrid sadie...we have to be sooo careful with our meds for sure, I won't take anything with knowing every side effect possible..just so I know what might haooen to me..I've Even refused some meds due to their side effects..sometimes it's permanent damage..there worse in the end than the pain,,at least we know it will lessen a tad later,,,,.hope everything works out ok for you really soon...don't know anything about that med..it's probably called something else in Oz...be blessed sadie,,have a lovely day.,:-) xxx
My rheumatologist put me on endep for pain and sleep and it did the same thing this drug seemed to do for you! I went straight to my GP and explained what had happened and she was furious - said that whilst in small doses antidepressants help with pain relief they can also cause depression and leave people feeling like zombies - but because he put me on such a high dose my GP had to slowly wean me off them!!
I hope you find a med regime that works sooner rather than later! Smart move taking yourself off these tablets!! I totally understand why you would be peed off!!
Hi sadie1980 Unfortunatly its very much trial error with what works for us with meds and what doesnt. The side affects with some of these meds are terrible. I had such bad reactions from the meds. I dont take anything for pain relief. Any tablet that affects you stop taking it straight away and see your gp, Take care
both gabapentin and lyrica have bad side effects. I only took gabapentin fro two days and had to stop . . .it turned me into a different person totally ..

Hope all goes well for you at the drs next week sadie, has your dr tried you on a low dose pain patch, and also morphine. Im allergic to opoids so cant take anything. hope you find something that works for you soon. take care gentle hugs

Endep is Amitriptyline....it's great for me..I take 25mg at about 6-8 om avpctually the earlier the better...at night...sleep like a baby with no pain..have been on it over 16 yrears now..never had it increased either, it took a couple of years of trial and error to get my dosage right though...it's and old low grade antidepressant that deadens the nerve endings stoppingthe pain from travelling throughout the body..the antidepressant part just be a little bonus.have a lovely day..be blessed...:-) xx
Amitriptyline I'm on 30mg but it doesn't make me tired the only thing it does do is not make me as stiff in the morning

I no my partner is on the same but only 10mg and he is like a zombie in the morning we are def all so different! Of to work now ! Oh the joys xx

Hi sadie1980 shame you found something that worked and that helped with the pain. but not good when it makes you spaced out and have a baby to look after. theses tablets cause soo many side affects they are quiet nasty harmful too. hope you can find something that will work for you and not affect as badly? its very much trial error with fibro unfortuanatly. take care gentle hug
