I love all the sharing on here - it makes me feel less alone whenever my dark demon strikes in yet another way.
That said i would love to also hear about anything that is helping .
- Anything that helps you keep working effectively and function well at work?
- Anything that helps you retain a loving relationship and friendships?
- Anything that helps you lose the extra lbs whilst eating all your emotions?
- Anything that helps you retain some degree of positive glass half full attitude?
- Anything that gives me a glimmer of hope that i might make it through this with my marriage, sanity, health and job all still intact?!!
What helps me is to keep moving… one day at a time.. Once in awhile my minds takes over in a zillion directions but I do my best to keep it on task. Yes, the extra pounds does bother me BUT again I research and try doing what I can to be at a healthy weight. Don’t want to give up and gain more weight then I will be in trouble. I have seen other women lose weight so my time is coming. My health is important so I will take supplements, walk, swim or whatever else I need to keep BP in check.. Marriage umm he is selvish so I have to remember to do whats best for me and not always him…
Bach’s flower remedies got me emotionally right back on track, and helped with all the mental and brain fog. They are probably the thing that helped me the most in that department.
Progressive CHEWABLE vitamins fir women gave me my energy back.
Bachs Rescue remedy is the only thing that helped with anxiety.
Being not so hard on myself for not being able to do everything the way I did before, and slowing down and not worrying about it also helped.
Embracing the change, accepting it as a phase of life…and looking forward to who I am going to be out the other end gives me hope.
Hello Marion,
Answers as follows ![]()
- Mindful meditation, hrt, flower remedies, cbd oil and working from home!
- The loving relationship is hard to explain because my hubby is patient but doesn’t get it. I mostly take the ‘fake it til you make it approach’ but when I get the chance to go out, be active, go to the cinema etc I try to never say no. That just keeps me feeling isolated and knocks my confidence so even if I don’t feel like it, I kick myself up the butt and usually feel better for it.
- I stick to a low fat diet and have lost 3 stone since last year despite meno. I run, walk, cycle whee n I can but mostly just get outdoors as much as I can and avoid wailing whilst eating chocolate (which feels good but doesn’t help)
- This can be a struggle particularly with anxiety, but as I said I’m active, I push myself to socialise, I celebrate even my smallest achievements, I spend time with family, meditate and keep a journal
- You absolutely will make it through Marion. I found it easier to treat it like a project. I took control over something that is impossible to control really and broke up my day into chunks. Starting with a walk in the morning and afternoon, eating healthy, meditation here and there, using remedies and vitamins but absolutely the most feel good I got is from being active outdoors. Try gardening, walking, biking, anything you can and in all weather’s. You can always climb back on the sofa later and cry, but for those moments outside it pays huge rewards.
Good luck love xx
Thanks so much for sharing
Great tips to try - especially Bachs Rescue Remedy i always used to swear by that!!
I will definitely keep in mind that it is a phase and it will pass The project idea is helpful as that gives me a sense of structure
Thanks for helping me press pause and look atvtgis proactively .
