Social drinking on Fluoxetine?

Hey guys!

Question about prozac and alcohol. I am a social drinker and usually have 1-2 drinks a few nights a week with friends (max 3 or 4). What’s your experience been with mixing alcohol and prozac?

I haven’t had any negative interactions with it whatsover so far, but I’m just curious if it’s safe and if other people socially drink on it as well.

i have been drinking on Prozac .

its hard to tell because the recovery is so up and down . ive had days alcohol has not been an issue but others it maybe has .

i would like to know how others feel as well .

check the nhs website for research based answer. im sure it mentions it there.

I have been on prozac for years & having a few drinks has never been an issue for me.If anything, it makes me more tired. That’s all.

Hello,

I won’t drink for a while until I feel the medication is balanced out in my system. I usually won’t drink the first 6-8 months after starting or increasing Prozac. Drinking can make me feel depressed the next day.
